Ximena Mardones Aguilar

Ximena joined Waves in 2025. Originally from Chile, she is Hispanic and Spanish is her native language.

Ximena holds a bachelor’s degree in education and spent 15 years working in the school system, specializing in speech disorders. Her personal experience as a parent of a child with Down syndrome has deepened her passion for supporting children with special needs and their families. At Waves, she enjoys creating materials and developing strategies to support children and sharing those resources with families. She also provides Spanish interpretation for her colleagues, which she considers a blessing.

Outside of work, Ximena enjoys music and plays drums in a band with her husband. She believes music is a powerful tool for both learning and teaching.
