William has been receiving semi-independent living services from Waves since 2005. For the past 20 years, William has been employed with Kroger. Three days a week William walks the half-mile from his apartment to the Kroger store, depending on the weather.

“We take turns bagging groceries and sweeping floors. I like bagging groceries most,” William says as he sweeps the Kroger aisles.

When he’s not working, William enjoys attending Waves parties and events, being a part of Waves’ Jobs Club, attending sporting events and concerts, and painting. In fact, William participates each year in Waves’ An Artists Window art show (see picture to the left).

Receiving services through Waves has given William an opportunity to live independently, to make his own choices, and to be secure in knowing there is someone who is looking out for his best interest.
