Adult Day Program

Waves operates two Adult Day Program Centers, one in Franklin, the other in Fairview. Both programs operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00pm.

The Adult Day Program is structured to enhance the skills necessary to live as independently as possible. Recreational and therapeutic opportunities based on the personal interests of the participants encourage social, vocational, and leisure skills. Through planned activities in community settings, individuals become more exposed to the options available to them and have opportunities to choose areas of interest for continued skill development.

Typical activities might include:

  • Music therapy
  • Arts and crafts activities
  • Shopping
  • Bowling
  • Movies
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physical therapy
  • Money management
  • Touring local areas of interest

Involvement in the community is a major emphasis of the Day Program, and several participants do regularly scheduled volunteer work each week.
